Darin,

the step for LX3 from -1 to 0 is quite huge, I rather keep them in -1. I will show u why later with you some pics.

That's what I was thinking--so it looks like the difference between the two is that the Leica has the saturation knocked down by 1/2 a click--which would satisfy Leica's claim that the two differ in image processing--they never said it was a big difference!

LX3 Default setting all 0


LX3 Sat -1, Contrast -1, NR -1

HKO, with the Preset WB + std film mode + zero adjustment, , it seems Dlux4 producing richer color vs the LX3. From the previous samples, i would expect LX3 be the one that are having more saturated output. The DLUX4 also has a notch better in both contrast and details vs the LX3.

besides the Picture IQ, do you have any other comments on handling, menu, AE and AF between the 2 ? ( You can skip the part where DLUX4 has the red dot  depressed2 )

Lee, The Menu & Buttons & Functions are exactly the same. Grip is not bad in DLUX, LX3 is little better with the supporting grip.

Lee, The Menu & Buttons & Functions are exactly the same. Grip is not bad in DLUX, LX3 is little better with the supporting grip.
So, you could make use of the additional Grip for Dlux4

Lee, not sure how well it works, I haven't ordered yet. if want better grip temporary can use the Ricoh GR2, Sony R1  wow
